Our Founding Story
Christina and Catherine
Christina Vad and Catherine Coley met in 2017 as co-workers. They quickly became great friends and have shared many ups and downs in their lives throughout the time they have known each other. As the years passed, they realized that their experiences and strengths would serve them well in running their own company. Over time and after experiences with Christina becoming the sole caregiver for her ailing father, Christina and Catherine started looking into creating a non-profit organization of their own in an effort to advocate for the elderly. Along the way they stumbled across the opportunity of opening their own cafe, Lanza’s Café in Carrboro NC. They jumped into action with the idea in mind that Twin Hearts and Lanza's Café would make a great combination in service of the community and of their heart's goals.
Opened in August of 2021, amid COVID-19, Christina and Catherine have made Lanza's Café into an open and amazing space to gather that brings light and love to all of their patrons. Their little Café has grown more than they could have ever anticipated. Through this special place where bringing the community together is at the forefront, they plan to use Lanza’s Café to help raise awareness for Twin Hearts and it's mission. Their goal is to help families, elderly, veterans, the community as a whole, and their caregivers to provide the support and care that we all deserve.
In honor of Guy Chiarolanza, the Cafe's namesake and Christina's late father, Twin Hearts, Inc. and Lanza’s Café's mission is to help provide mindful, specialized, affordable care and advocacy for families and their loved ones. “Families Helping Families”
